She's just ten months old, but already little Maddie Rose is in the fight of her life. Maddie's battling an aggressive cancer, one that Dr Rishi Kotecha from PMH says has spread to her bone marrow, "unfortunately Maddie has one that's called a grade 4 stage 4 neuro blastoma which is unfortunately one of the worst types you can get but fortunately she does have age on her side."
It was just before Christmas - when Mum Courtney took her youngest daughter to hospital for a bad cough. Doctor's found a tumour in her adrenal gland. Maddie began chemotherapy, "such a tiny little thing isn't she? they said the tumour weighs about a kilo so, pretty big for a little girl like her but she is a fighter." but it's a battle that couldn't have come at a worse time. You see, the family were smack bang in the middle of renovating. Their house a construction site.
So while Robbie stays in the half built house, snatching a few hours here and there to make it liveable, Courtney, Maddie and big sister Charli, have been bunking down with family. Perth decorator Christie Blizzard had never met the Williams but she's about to change their lives. Christie heard about Maddie's plight on Facebook - and decided to rally the troops, "thankfully we live in Perth and the community has just been amazing and it's gone to restyling it and turning this nightmare into a dream for this family."
