Kids Holiday Fun

For Perth parents - finding things for the kids to do in the school holidays can be a very pricey exercise.

Perth Mum - and founder of website "kids around Perth" is on a mission.

Uncovering interesting and fun things for the kids to do - that don't cost a cent.

"There are so many free things to do in Perth for families and I wanted to share it with all the other families."

Lauren has compiled a list.

First up - Plane watching.

Perth airport has a new viewing deck.

Grandma Dell brings her grandson Hector here all the time.

Kids can read about the types of planes and the history of aviation too

There's also a grassed area at Jandakot airport.

To plane watch - for free - until your hearts are content.

This next outing - is a hidden oasis. A Waterfall to explore. And Big slides.

John Aldham Park is tucked behind trees on Mounts Bay Road.

With lush gardens, a playground, this magical place is in the heart of Perth city.

Next on the list - is Yanchep Lagoon.

About an hour from the city.

Mum Kirsty Connell says visiting places like this teaches children good life lessons.

On the way home from the beach - you can check out this flying fox.

It's also in Yanchep

The kids can play here for hours.

And if your kids are climbing the walls with boredom at home - check out this gigantic twisted climbing tree.

It's in the Swan Valley.

You can climb for free!

And when you are finished climbing - escape into an underwater world - made of chocolate.

Just around the corner - Whistlers Chocolate Factory in the Swan Valley - has a giant aquarium and it is ALL made of lollies and chocolate.

Owner and Chocolatier Ian Sargent made the whole thing

You don't have to pay to have a look.

And there are some free tastings.

But be warned - you might just be tempted to dip into your purse - to buy a coffee or a chocolate while you're here.
