These new fuels are Ethanol and to lure customers into his United petrol stations - CEO David Szymczak is firing the latest shot in the petrol price war - aimed squarely at Woolies and Coles- he's knocking 20 cents off the price of ethanol fuels for one day only. "In order to give customers the opportunity to try these new fuels and to give it back to the supermarkets, United's dropping the price of e10, premium 100 and e85 by 20 cents a litre on Friday off the board price"

The discount will apply to all western Australian united outlets which supply the ethanol based fuels - the petrol price boards will display the already lowered price, which will be based on the unleaded fuel as a comparison, typically unleaded is 2 cents a litre more expensive than ethanol fuels.Ethanol is a bio-fuel added to petrol - it's cleaner and cheaper than petrol alone. After years of being available on the East Coast it's recently arrived in Perth. "United have been very keen for a number of years to bring Ethanol to Perth and it's really been a matter of logistics because there's no Ethanol refineries here in WA it needs to be shipped out of Queensland so it's a long way and so it took us a while to solve those logistics problems but we've solved that and we want to bring that better fuel to motorists of Perth and at this stage it's exclusive to United." United says the take up of Ethanol is around 35% of fuel sold - David Szymczak hopes tomorrow's discounting will attract even more motorists to Ethanol. "So all day Friday, no tricks, and no dockets just a great deal so come in and try"
