Shopping is radically changing going to the stores and paying a set price is becoming passé. On-line shopping, getting the cheapest deal is all the go and the latest to enter the fray is Woolworths. Woolies has just launched a daily deals website where the bargains are just amazing. Helen Wellings with more on how you can cut cost by up to 80%

On-line daily deals, the ultimate way to nab the lowest-of-low prices around for electronics, watches, handbags, groceries and personal care items. And the competition for bargains is about to reach boiling point. Woolworths has just set up a daily deal on-line site, Doorbuster.

We've told you about existing daily deals websites - big-player, Catchof the day, DealsDirect, Scoopon and brandsExclusive. Now Woolworths Doorbuster is planning to blitz their prices with goods you want, brands you know, different items every day.

"It's a very limited range, and we've got certain small parcels of stock, once they're gone, they're gone, get in quick is our motto." Said Hancock

Nigel Hancock Woolworths head of on-line marketing says Doorbuster aims to undercut competitors.

"We look at deals on aggregated sites that take all the best deals out there in the market and we just have a look at those and make sure that we're at the top of that pile. We are going to be cheap, we're cheaper than JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, and several other retailers out there at the moment." He said

"We've got hundreds of bargains on the website, but a couple of favourites, Snugglers nappies, $22, that's down from $30, saving $8, the iPod double dock rrp $499, we're $199 on our site - that saves $300 - $300, this chainsaw normally $179, only $99 on the website!" he claims

Woolworths Doorbuster site will also be a bargain-basement clearance outlet, selling leftovers and end-of-run goods

Radox Handwash, 6 for $7.98, was $14.94, saves $6.96, 46% off. Kindle $99, was $159 save $60, 38% off. TDK gaming headset $40 was $89.94 saves $49.94, 56% off. Panasonic earphones $19 was $29 save $10, 34%. Armani Men's watch $370 was $799, saves $429, 54% more than half price. Pantene 750 mls 3 for $18 down from $30 saves $12, 39% off.

Sam yip - senior research manager at telsyte says were now spending $20 billion buying on-line and the majority of that's with daily deal and group-buying websites "Sites such as Door Buster can pass the savings onto Australians because they don't have massive staff costs, they don't have the cost of distributing products to different stores and they don't have the cost of maintaining the stock nice on shelves."
