Cancer Family

Reporter: Andrea Burns

Jordan McLeod's only 10.The brain tumour that's stealing his sight is inoperable. As well, his Mum Heidi has breast cancer. They were diagnosed six months apart.

Jordie has just one wish…"for mum and I to get better".

For cancer to hit one family member is devastating. Two, unimaginable.

Constantly sick throughout chemo, Jordan's lost 12 kilos. Emotionally, it's been a tough road. Wave after wave of bad news.

Heidi's a single mum, a teacher who first cut back her hours to look after Jordan then had to stop work altogether when her own diagnosis came in. The family has been surviving on the kindness of strangers.

They're hoping another stranger will be able to pull off a miracle. Brilliant surgeon Dr Charlie Teo has Jordan's scans. They're running out of options.
