In a television first David Koch will co-host Sunrise live from the Kokoda Track on ANZAC Day.

Tomorrow, 25 April at 7am (AEST) Sunrise will cross live to Kochie who will be at the Isurava Memorial Site for the ANZAC Day service.

Sunrise will broadcast the 30 minute service commercial free and will then chat to David about his incredible journey along one of the world's most challenging and moving tracks.

"Kokoda, like Gallipoli, is another example of ordinary Australians doing extraordinary things," he said.

"This is something I have wanted to do for many years and I feel privileged to be able to share it with hundreds of thousands of Sunrise viewers."

On ANZAC Day, David will be at the end of the trip and will have only six hours of walking to complete.

David is being accompanied on this latest challenge by his son, his brother and his nephew, as well as Sunrise newsreader Natalie Barr's husband and politicians Joe Hockey and Kevin Rudd.

The group left Australia on 16 April and will return on 27 April.

A Sunrise crew is filming every step of the journey highlights will be shown on David's return.
