As PAULINE HANSON attempts another political foxtrot to sashay her way back into the Australian Senate it will be ideal training for her forthcoming role on the Seven Network's new variety show, DANCING WITH THE STARS.

The former-One Nation leader will need to swing votes her way not only in the polling booth, but also on the dance floor.

Ms HANSON yesterday confirmed she remains committed to the series which premieres on the Seven Network on Tuesday October 5. DANCING WITH THE STARS, which will be hosted by DARYL SOMERS, sees eight celebrities paired up with Australia's slickest professional dancers in a live television ballroom dancing competition.

Viewers will follow the celebrities as they are put through their paces by their dance partners in intensive rehearsals. Each week one couple will be voted out of the competition by the audience at home.

Ms HANSON yesterday said, "I'm dancing with the stars and it's great. That was a commitment that I made prior to my decision to go for politics and the fact is that I'm not going to back out of that commitment."

“My attitude to life is that you give everything a go! I think it's going to be fun, I think it's going to be exciting and I tell you what I'm bloody nervous! I really am!"

Cutting a rug with Ms HANSON will be JOHN WOOD (Blue Heelers), BEC CARTWRIGHT (Home and Away), JAMES TOMKINS (triple Olympic gold medallist), MATT SHIRVINGTON (athlete), Dr KATRINA WARREN (television vet), JUSTIN MELVEY (actor and model) and GABRIELLE RICHENS ('The Pleasure Machine' and television host).
